High summer has arrived in Barcelona and there’s a holiday atmosphere across the city with residents taking full advantage of the beaches and waterfront chiringuitos – authentic, intimate beach bars. The scene is set for Pride, an exuberant celebration of the diversity of city life and we outline more details below.

Barcelona pride
The city is gearing up for Barcelona Pride 2023, July’s celebration of the LGBTQ community with compelling events across music, dance, sports and exhibitions. The highlight is the parade on Saturday 14th July, winding its colourful way from Parque de las Tres Chimeneas to Plaza España. New this year is Village Pride at Plaça de la Universitat 5,000 square metres of tents, stands and exhibitions which organisers promise will be “spectacular”.
Future-gazing at Poblenou
Poblenou, the location of Antares, was highly praised in British newspaper The Times this summer, commended for its “flourishing art and design scene”. For those keen to learn more about the architecture and art in Barcelona’s exciting “design-forward” location, The Times recommended signing up to 21st Century Tour, organised by Barcelona Design Tours.
