MODERN ARCHITECTURE
“Architecture is an adventure. It should never be ordinary.”
Odile Decq
Willfully unconventional, combining ingenious geometric designs with signature swathes of deep red, Odile Decq has created both a ‘landmark’ and a ‘destination’ in a city known for its endearing off-beat style.
Ideally located in the artistic and vibrant Diagonal Mar district of the city, Antares is the highest residential tower in Barcelona and the last one of its kind to be awarded planning approval. The 30-storey masterpiece features spacious floor-to-ceiling windows and private, impeccably designed terraces that provide awe-inspiring views of the sea, the Montserrat mountains and the Catalan capital.

cutting-edge architecture
Celebrated around the world for her cutting-edge architecture, French-born Odile Decq opened her studio in 1978.
Still operating from the same studio in Paris, she creates statement work through a unique style that promises to push boundaries, yet at the same time embraces the personality of the surroundings. Odile’s knowledge and expertise is appreciated all over the world. She frequently presents at prestigious seats of learning such as ESA, Columbia, and Harvard, as well as managing her own architecture school in Paris.
Odile is a creative powerhouse and spirited breaker of convention.
Her diverse portfolio ranges from art galleries and museums to social housing and infrastructure. One of the studio’s early triumphs was in the 1980s when the design of the Banque Populaire de l’Ouest in Rennes won 11 awards.
Since then, accolades have flowed, including the Venice Biennale Golden Lion 1996, Maison & Objet Designer of the Year 2013, the Jane Drew Prize for women in architecture 2016, and Architizer’s Lifetime Achievement Award 2017.
The studio’s artistic legacy is evident in numerous cities across the world.
Highlights include the MACRO Contemporary Art Museum in Rome and the Fangshan Tangshan National Geopark Museum in Nanjing, China.
